About Grayfish Golf
From an early age, I was immersed in an artistic environment, deeply influenced by my parents, both exceptional artists who excelled in a variety of media. During the 1980s, they owned a successful jewelry business that featured an array of handcrafted items including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. My father, an alumnus of the Chicago Art Institute with a degree in fine arts, had his artworks adorn much of our home. He began his career in painting but shifted to graphic design, climbing the corporate ladder, though this transition saw him moving away from painting for many years.
My passion for art was cultivated under their guidance, pushing me to experiment with various media throughout my education. A significant influence was a presentation by a representative from the Art Institute of Dallas during my seventh grade, which introduced me to graphic design and 3D animation. This sparked a dream of creating video games, leading me to focus diligently on building a portfolio for college admission. In high school, I was known as "the artist," contributing to various projects including murals, signage for sporting events, and even jewelry making.
This commitment to art secured me a substantial scholarship at the Art Institute of Dallas, where I joined the 3D art and animation program. The competitive atmosphere of the institute propelled me to push the boundaries of my skills in graphic design, illustration, character design, web design, 3D modeling, and animation. Despite starting with about 200 peers, only a handful of us completed the program, a testament to the rigorous nature of our studies.
Post-graduation, I navigated various roles, eventually joining a media lab called Mohment, where we specialized in creating realistic architectural renderings and animations. Our work was ambitious, pushing the boundaries of realism in digital creations. However, the 2007/2008 housing crisis severely impacted our industry, prompting me to explore other avenues in design, particularly UI and UX, which I grew to love while redesigning our company's portfolio website.
My career continued to evolve, leading to a role at Verizon where I redesigned their employee intranet platform. This experience paved the way for my current position as Chief Technology Officer at ParkHub, where I lead a large team of engineers.
On a personal note, my life took a joyous turn when I moved back to Irving, Texas, after joining Verizon and met my future wife, who lived in the apartment right above mine. Her supportive and caring nature was a cornerstone as we faced our challenges together, including our journey through IVF to start a family. After several long months, we were blessed with our son, Grayson Fisher, and later, twins William and Ava. These experiences not only strengthened our bond but also deeply influenced my personal and professional life choices.
Amidst these developments, I revisited entrepreneurship by founding Grayfish, a clothing brand inspired by my son, and my renewed interest in art. More recently, I discovered a passion for golf, which has not only become a cherished hobby but also a source of inspiration for new product ideas, blending my love for design with practical solutions for golf enthusiasts.
Through a blend of artistic passion, professional development, and personal growth, my life has been a continuous journey of learning, adapting, and thriving in both the creative and technological realms.
Launching Grayfish wasn't just about creating another clothing line; it was a personal mission to infuse the functional world of golf apparel with the creativity and passion that have been my life's constants. Each piece from Grayfish is not merely apparel; it's a canvas where functionality meets art, each design drawn from my own experiences and crafted with the golfer in mind.
